Welcome to Balancé Restorative Movement

Finding any semblance of balance in this life is a delicate dance. We shift, we change, we evolve, and most importantly, we keep moving.

Balancé Restorative Movement is a fusion of yoga, pilates, and restorative exercise. Balancé was born at a time in my life when my body’s needs had shifted tremendously. After the birth of my daughter and recovering from a hip injury, I was left feeling unsure of how to exercise in a way that felt safe and effective.

I began to curate mini-classes for myself at home. Intentional movement pulled from different techniques. A little yoga, mat pilates, barre, meditation, all mixed together with a lot of good music. It became a restorative experience that I felt was worth sharing.

I am offering private sessions exclusively at the moment and hope to expand to group classes in the future. All levels are welcome and we will work together to customize movement that feels good for you and your body’s needs.

About

Kelly began her career in movement as a professional dancer. She performed as a Radio City Rockette for five years and when she was not performing, she taught dance and fitness in and around NYC. Kelly had always felt more at home in the studio than on stage, so her love for teaching movement felt like a natural progression. As her love for teaching grew, so did the demand for her classes. Kelly moved on to teaching full-time in NYC for over ten years. From teaching dance classes, to barre classes, to becoming a Senior Instructor and regional training officer at SoulCycle, she acquired a wide range of teaching and training experience. In the summer of 2020, Kelly completed her 200 hour vinyasa yoga teacher training from Lotus Flow University. During that year, she was unable to teach group classes because of the pandemic, however she shifted to teaching private yoga classes outside and virtually. During that time, she developed a real love and appreciation for the power of one-on-one training.

Kelly’s approach to movement is less about striving for intensity and more about seeking sustainability. She has learned from her past experiences that in order for a life of movement to be sustainable, it must be adaptable. Movement needs to keep up with the mover.
